Spider-Man’s New Costume Will Reportedly Have a Classic Symbol
Over the past few months, we’ve heard a lot of different things regarding Spider-Man’s new suit that we’ll see when he’s introduced in Captain America: Civil War. We have yet to see it, though, so everything that we’ve been hearing is only rumor at this point.
Some of those rumors include the possibility that we will see two different suits in the movie: a homemade version created by Peter Parker, and one given to him by Tony Stark. We’ve seen an artist’s rendition of a description of the costume. Then Marvel CCO Joe Quesada said that Spidey's new look is “awesome” and that it will “blow people away.”
We now have a new detail regarding the costume to share with you. It comes from Heroic Hollywood. Apparently Marvel showed 15 minutes of Civil War a few days ago for a theater staff, and that footage included Spider-Man’s new costume. They say that the costume will include the classic spider symbol on his back that you see below:
You might recognize the symbol from Spider-Man 62 and The Ultimate Spider-Man animated series. If this is true, I like that Marvel decided to take Spider-Man back to his roots. I always loved that classic suit design, and it will be great to see elements of it incorporated in the new suit.
We’ll get our first look at Spidey in costume in Captain America: Civil War, which hits theaters May 6th, 2016.
