Sue Storm is Reportedly The Lead of FANTASTIC FOUR and That's Said To Have Bothered Some Actors Up For Reed Richards

There’s been a lot of news coming out in regard to Marvel’s Fantastic Four movie. Last week, casting reports said that Pedro Pascal would take on the role of Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, Venessa Kirby (Napoleon) would play Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, along with Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) as Ben Grimm aka the Thing. It was also said that Javier Bardem and Antonio Banderas are up for the role of Galactus.

This casting has yet to be officially confirmed, so at this point, anything can change until Marvel Studios puts out the official announcement. Marvel was looking at several different actors to take on these roles, but filling the role of Reed Richards is an important one.

Marvel initially was looking at Jake Gyllenhaal and Adam Driver for the Reed Richards role, but it’s said they wanted too much money. Then there was the report where Kevin Feige believed the Fantastic Four cast was shaping up to be “way too white” so he pushed for the casting of Pascal.

It’s been reported that Sue Storm is the focal point of the story and according to a recent rumor, "That bothered some of the actors they talked to for Reed." This was shared by insiders MTiTH as well as John Rocha and Jeff Sneider also brought up while discussing Fantastic Four on The Hot Mic podcast.

In regard to the story, Rocha said that Marvel Studios has considered a love triangle, which suggests Reed and Sue won't be the strong couple we know from the source material when we first meet them. There’s no word on who might be involved, but in the comics, Ben Grimm had a thing for Sue that was explored, so that’s something that might be explored in the movie.

Sneider also shared that the movie is expected to start shooting as soon as the first week of December.  Fantastic Four is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on May 2, 2025.
