THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Star Temuera Morrison Is Still Pushing Lucasfilm for a Second Season
The Book of Boba Fett had a lot of potential, and it should’ve been a great Star Wars series, but in the end, it ended up being a pretty lackluster series. The creative team dropped the ball on it, and since the first season ended, there’s been no official word on if it will be getting a Season 2.
Well, series star Temuera Morrison recently shared that he's still trying to talk Lucasfilm into making a second season, but it’s looking unlikely that it’s going to happen.
During a recent convention appearance, Morrison was asked by a fan about working with Fennec Shand actress Ming-Na Wen and he shared his hopes for wanting to continue the series with her.
He said: "Both her and I wanted to work pretty hard in the hope that they might carry on [and] do a 2 and a 3 and a 4 and a 5 and a 6 and a 7," the actor revealed. I've been trying to nudge them in that direction too. It needs more nudging, but anyway..."
I’ll be surprised if Lucasfilm did another season of The Book of Boba Fett, but there’s so much happening right now, so many projects in development, that another season of the show wouldn’t really make scenes.
Morrison previously talked about how grateful he is to play this classic Star Wars character and also says that after looking back at the series, there are some things he would change.
He said: “Now that I'm looking back at it, I don't know, it's just one of those things. Things are great when you look back, but there are some things I may have done a little bit different. But again, just for me to work with Jon and be part of the Mandalorian family [has] just been quite phenomenal, really."
Morrison previously shared one of his criticisms about how his character was handled, saying he talked "far too much" in his role.
He explained: "I speak far too much. In fact, in the beginning, I was trying to pass my lines on to Ming-Na [Wen]. I said: 'Excuse me director, I really feel that Ming-Na should say these lines, 'cause I wanna stay mysterious. I wanna stay quiet.'
“We had to fill in the gaps and give out a little bit of information [about Boba], but yes, I think I did speak a bit too much."
If a Season 2 did happen, Morrison previously shared what he’d like to see in it, saying he wants to see Boba on a journey to hunt down Mace Windu.
He explained: "Being a young teenager, fatherless and making his own way, he's got a few chips on his shoulders. I think that we'd better let Jon Favreau know that we should have another series where I start looking for Mace."
That would be a fun story to explore, but I don’t think we’ll ever see it happen. In the end, I just hope the Lucasfilm creative team learned some lessons from the mistakes made in The Book of Boba Fett.
