THE CONJURING Is Getting a Horror Series at HBO Max From James Wan and Peter Safran
The Conjuring universe is about to expand even more with a new horror drama series being developed at HBO Max. James Wan is developing the series as an executive producer along with DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran, and it’s set up with New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Television.
The series is said to “continue the story established in the feature films.” There are no other details shared, but it it continues the story from the films, I imagine that means it will continue to follow Ed and Lorraine Warren, who are played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.
There’s no word on if the actors will reprise their roles, but it would be great if they did! I’m a big fan of The Conjuring film franchise, and I’m curious to see what exactly this series will be. I also don’t know what this means for the future of the film franchise. I assume they will just produce both.
There are currently seven films in The Conjuring universe including The Conjuring, Annabelle, The Conjuring 2, Annabelle: Creation, The Nun, Annabelle Comes Home, and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
The next installment of the horror franchise is The Nun 2, which will be released on September 8th.
