THE CROW Reboot Trailer Racks Up Over 88,000 Dislikes on YouTube
Last week the first trailer for The Crow reboot was released, and it was not met with the most positive reactions from fans. In fact, the trailer for the film currently has over 88,000 dislikes on YouTube. But, the trailer also has 62,000 likes, so there are still a good amount of people who liked what they saw in the trailer.
A remake of The Crow has been in and out of development for years and over the course of that time, it has been heavily scrutinized by the fan base of the original Alex Proyas-directed film. Now that the film is actually being released, the trailer has gotten a lot of backlash.
The producing team and the creative team had to have known that this backlash was coming and I have a feeling that the movie isn’t going to do too well at the box office when its released. But, we’ll just have to wait and see. Rebooting The Corw might not have been the best idea.
In the film: “Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA Twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.”
This version of the movie comes from director Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell), and it stars Bill Skarsgård (It), singer/actor FKA Twigs, Danny Huston (30 Days of Night), Laura Birn (Foundation), Sami Bouajila (A Son), and Jordan Bolger (The Woman King).
The Crow reboot will released in theaters on June 7, 2024.
