THE FLASH Was Never in Danger of Being Shelved Over Ezra Miller's Issues
Back in 2022 there was a report that came out saying that Warner Bros. executives sat down for a meeting to decide what to do with The Flash after Ezra Miller went on their crazy streak and was facing a number of legal issues.
According to reports the options that were considered as a last report were to shelve the movie and not release it. Well, according to The Flash producer Barbara Muschietti, that option was never really actually considered.
During a recent interview with EW, Muschietti was asked if there was a legitimate fear of the movie being canceled, Barbara said, "Not at all. No. That was never real."
She also revealed that she and director Andy Muschietti are still in touch with Miller and said: "We have a lot of empathy in general for people who need help, and especially in mental health issues. That's why they are taking the necessary steps to deal with their recovery, and we support them in that.”
The director previously shared that if The Flash ends up getting a sequel, which is very likely, They will not rep[lace Ezra Miller. He said: “If [a sequel] happens, yes. I don’t think there’s anyone that can play that character as well as they did. The other depictions of the character are great, but this particular vision of the character, they just excelled in doing it. And, as you said, the two Barrys — it feels like a character that was made for them.”
Miller has been getting help and in regards to that the filmmaker said: “Ezra is well now. We're all hoping that they get better... They're taking the steps to recovery. They're dealing with mental health issues, but they're well. We talked to them not too long ago, and they're very committed to getting better.”
So, if WB actually does end up greenlighting a sequle to The Flash, you can expect Miller to return.
