The GHOSTBUSTERS Animated Movie Will "Take Us to Places That We've Never Been Before"
On top of the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel that’s in development and the Ghostbusters animated series being produced for Netflix, there’s an animated film in the works with director Jason Reitman and writer Gil Kenan.
Not much is known about this animated film, but in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kenan offered some new information, saying that, "The animated film will take us to places that we've never been before.
The writer went on to say, "We love these characters, and we're so excited to push the boundaries of what we think of as a Ghostbusters story. We will keep the flame burning bright with all these concepts, which will continue to grow what a Ghostbusters story can be."
Reitman added, "An animated series and an animated film will allow us to go deeper into places that Dan Aykroyd talked about when he first talked about Ghostbusters."
This is very cool and very exciting for hardcore Ghostbusters fans like myself. It looks like the future is bright for the franchise, and I’m so excited to see the franchise expand with different stories that are sure to introduce us to some new characters.
As long as this creative team delivers strong and fun stories, the fans will continue to show up, watch, and support the franchise.
