THUNDERBOLTS* Team Will Reportedly Have a "Huge" Role in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY

The future of the MCU is going to be interesting as Marvel Studios have been taking steps to up their game and are making efforts to make better quality Marvel movies and TV shows.

They have a plan in place that will lead to Avengers: Doomsday which will see Robert Downey Jr. take on the role of the villainous Doctor Doom.

We’ve heard that Spider-Man will play a big role in that film and now it’s being reported by Hollywood insider MTTSH, that the team in the upcoming Thunderbolts* movie will have a "huge" role in Avengers: Doomsday.

This would back up another report that claimed that this "least anticipated band of misfits" will actually be revealed as the New Avengers, which is said to be the point of the asterisk in the title.

So, it seems like that team will form the basis for a new, most likely government-sponsored team that would officially activate during or after the events of Avengers: Secret Wars. 

Doomsday will start shooting in March of next year, with Spider-Man 4 reportedly set to start production in May. Secret Wars will most likely shoot in March of 2026.

Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on May 1, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027. Both films will be directed by the Russo brothers.
