Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix's JOKER Sequel Gets a 2024 Release Date

Director Todd Phillips’ Joker sequel, which is currently titled Joker: Folie à Deux, is set to hit theaters on October 4th, 2024, five years after the first film was released and became a massive billion dollar hit.

The sequel will be a musical with Joaquin Phoenix set to star in the film alongside Lady Gaga, who is expected to play Joker’s co-conspirator, Harley Quinn. Phoenix will make a whopping $20 million on the sequel!

While we don’t know much more about the movie, Phillips previously talked about how he would handle the sequel to Joker, saying: “It couldn’t just be this wild and crazy movie about the ‘Clown Prince of Crime’. It would have to have some thematic resonance in a similar way that this does. Because I think that’s ultimately why the movie connected, it’s what’s going on underneath. So many movies are about the spark, and this is about the powder. If you could capture that again in a real way, that would be interesting.”

While WB is scrapping DC films like Batgirl and trying to figure out what to do with The Flash, they are all in on Joker 2 and they obviously hope to see the billion dollar box office dollars again!
