Tom Hardy Confirms VENOM: THE LAST DANCE Is His Last Time Playing Venom
As rumors continue to spread that Tom Hardy’s Venom: The Last Dance will set up Spider-Man 4 and that Venom and Spider-Man will team up in the sequel, Hardy has confirmed that this will be the last time he plays the character.
Hardy took to social media recently to write: "Thank you for a great time – and seven years. I've had the best experience [Sony] working with Venom. This is me and the big guy's last outing, going out with a Bang!!! Come see us off – last in the trilogy and done."
He makes it pretty clear here that he’s done, so unless he’s lying, don’t expect Tom Hardy to reprise his role as Venom in any future projects.
I haven’t been the biggest fan of this Venom franchise as I know for a fact it could’ve been so much better in so many ways. So, I’m fine with the fact that Hardy is done with Venom and moving on.
In The Last Dance, “Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest & most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo is forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie's last dance.”
The movie is directed by Kelly Marcel (Fifty Shades of Grey). She also wrote and produced the first two Venom movies. The script of this third film is based on a story that she developed with Hardy.
The Last Dance stars Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham.
Venom: The Last Dance hits theaters on October 25th.
