Red-Band Trailer for the GameStop Stock Movie DUMB MONEY with Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, and Pete Davidson
“Holy f**king shit!” The first trailer for the GameStop stock movie Dumb Money has been released, and this movie looks freakin’ fantastic! The movie tells the crazy story of how a group of amateur investors artificially increased the stock value of the video game retailer GameStop, and they pissed off a lot of rich stock brokers.
The movie is directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya, Cruella), and it has an amazing ensemble cast that includes Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Sebastian Stan, and Pete Davidson in lead roles.
Dumb Money is the “ultimate David vs. Goliath tale, based on the insane true story of everyday people who flipped the script on Wall Street and got rich by turning GameStop (yes, the mall videogame store) into the world’s hottest company. In the middle of everything is regular guy Keith Gill (Dano), who starts it all by sinking his life savings into the stock and posting about it. When his social posts start blowing up, so does his life and the lives of everyone following him. As a stock tip becomes a movement, everyone gets rich – until the billionaires fight back, and both sides find their worlds turned upside down.”
This who GameStop thing was absolutely bonkers, and this movie looks like it’s going to tell the story and a wildly entertaining way. I’m pretty excited about this one!
The movie also stars Nick Offerman, Shailene Woodley, America Ferrera, Dane DeHaan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Clancy Brown, Anthony Ramos, Kate Burton, Christina Brucato, Deniz Akdeniz, Talia Ryder, Myha’la Herrold, Larry Owens and Rushi Kota.
The movie is set to be released in theaters on October 20th.
