Two HALLOWEEN Video Games Being Developed by the Team Behind EVIL DEAD: THE GAME
The creative team that brought us Evil Dead: The Game, Boss Team Games, is now developing two video games based on John Carpenter‘s classic horror slasher film Halloween.
You’ll be happy to learn that Carpenter is actually on board to help out with at least one of those games, which makes sense as the filmmaker stopped making movies to play video games.
Carpenter, who is said to be “intimately involved” with the new titles, said in a statement: “As a huge gamer myself, I’m thrilled to help bring Michael Myers to life again in this game, and my hope is to scare you silly.”
The games are also being developed in conjunction with the producers of the Halloween franchise, and one will be powered by Unreal Engine 5.
IGN reports that the upcoming Halloween video games will allow players to “relive moments from the film and play as classic characters from one of the most iconic and important horror films of all time.”
The two new games are being developed in association with Compass International Pictures and Further Front.
Boss Team Games CEO Steve Harris said in a s statement: “Everyone at Boss Team Games are huge fans of horror and Halloween obviously holds a special place in the hearts of all horror fans.
“Getting to work with iconic characters like Michael Myers and build on John Carpenter’s original vision is literally a dream come true.
“Everyone at Boss Team is thrilled and honored to be working with Malek Akkad and John Carpenter to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience that fans of the movie and video games will love.”
No release dates or platforms have been announced for either title, but I’m looking forward to seeing how these games turn out.
