VENOM 2 Still on Track to Be Released in October and a Trailer May Be Coming Soon
Yesterday, Sony Pictures announced that the release dates of several of their big upcoming movies were being pushed to 2021 due to the movie theaters being shut down.
Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife moved from July 10th, 2020, to March 5th, 2021; Jared Leto’s Morbius has been pushed back from July 31st, 2020, to March 19th, 2021; Tom Holland’s Uncharted went from March 5th, 2021, to December 8th, 2021; and Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway moved from August 7th, 2020, to January 15th, 2021.
One big upcoming move that wasn’t mentioned was director Andy Serkis’s Venom 2. According to Deadline, Venom 2 is still set to be released on October 2nd, 2020. So, while it looks like we are going to have no big movies to enjoy this summer, come fall, at least we’ll have Venom 2 and a few more big movies to go out and see.
We don’t have any details regarding the story of Venom 2, but when previously talking about the film, Serkis said, “I’ve got some very clear ideas about the journey I’d like to see visually and how we can take the characters into another dimension.”
Kelly Marcell wrote the script, and the movie stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, Stephen Graham, and Naomie Harris as Shriek. There are also rumors that Tom Holland could show up as well, which is something that seems very possible now, especially since Morbius confirmed that there’s going to be a connection to the MCU version of Spider-Man.
There also may be a trailer for the film coming soon.
