The Universal Studios Presentation started off their show with an extended clip of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and it did not disappoint. Needless to say, this is one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year. If the rest of the movie is as good as the clip that was shown, then it will be one of the greatest movies ever made. The Odyssey is Nolan’s action fantasy epic, which is inspired by the ancient Greek poem from Homer. The story follows the long and brutal journey of Odysseus as he fights his way home after the Trojan War.
The film stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, with Tom Holland playing his son, Telemachus. Even in these early glimpses, Damon looks locked in, carrying the weight of a warrior who’s seen too much, but nothing will stop him as he embarks on his journey.
The cast lineup also includes Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, Benny Safdie, Elliot Page, Bill Irwin, Corey Hawkins, and more.
The Odyssey is set to hit theaters in the United States on July 17, 2026.
