WEDNESDAY Season 2 Sneak Peek Teases a Bigger, Bolder, Creepier Return to Nevermore

Netflix just dropped a fun behind-the-scenes preview of Wednesday Season 2, and it's clear that the creepy, kooky chaos is about to crank up to eleven. The sneak peek offer interviews with the cast and crew along with plenty of fun new footage.

Jenna Ortega is back as the morbidly magnetic Wednesday Addams, and she couldn't be more thrilled. “She's one of the coolest characters of all time,” Ortega says. “So to slip into the costume and tone again, it's just so much fun.”

This time around, the Addams family as a whole gets more screen time, and the stakes at Nevermore Academy are higher. Director Tim Burton returns to guide the madness, saying: “For me, it was enjoyable just because I love the cast.”

Co-showrunner Alfred Gough hints at the deeper dive the show is taking into Addams lore: “There isn’t really a lot of Addams Family lore, so we wanted to delve deeper [into that].”

Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) will now be picking up a fencing foil, while little brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) actually enrolls at Nevermore.

As if sharing a school with his sister wasn’t terrifying enough, Wednesday lays down the law: “Here are the ground rules… No eye contact without permission,” she tells him. “And Thing reports to me.”

Gough teases Pugsley’s journey this season, saying: “Poor Pugsley. He’s kind of an outcast among outcasts this season. Isaac did a really beautiful job of capturing the pathos of Pugsley.

Co-showrunner Miles Millar teases even more expansion in scope and character development: “The scope has expanded in terms of the characters arcs and it's really fun to see them explore a lot more of Nevermore.”

Hunter Doohan, who returns as Tyler Galpin, promises the tone and energy of the series remains intact, it’s just amped up. “Everything people loved about season 1. They’ve just turned the dial up on everything.”

The official synopsis gives us a taste of what’s ahead:

“Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.”

Season 2 will be split into two parts, with the first dropping on August 6th and the second arriving September 3rd.
