WEREWOLF BY NIGHT Director Wants to Release the Marvel Halloween Special in 3D
Marvel’s special Halloween presentation Werewolf by Night was a hell of a fun little movie! It’s definitely one of my favorite Marvel projects in recent years, and it’s back in the headlines because it was recently announced that a color version is being released that pays homage to the vibrant Hammer horror films. This will offer fans a whole new experience with the movie.
Well, director Michael Giacchino wants to continue playing around with the movie and exploring new gimmicks with it, like releasing it in 3D! Giacchino says a 3D version of Werewolf by Night would be inspired by the 1950s. He explained to Marvel:
"3D! Yes! Yes, then we'll do the 1950s version of the movie where it was just 3D. Yeah, maybe. I don't know. That would be great. I'd be down."
Yeah, that could be fun, but I’d much rather see the filmmaker making another movie! He’s currently working on developing a remake of the 1954 sci-fi film Them! Regardless, would you like to see Werewolf By Night get a 3D release? Hell, I’d just like to watch the movie on the big screen!
Marvel Studios’ Werewolf by Night in Color “takes place on a dark and somber night as a secret cabal of monster hunters emerge from the shadows and gather at the foreboding Bloodstone Temple following the death of their leader. In a strange and macabre memorial to the leader’s life, the attendees are thrust into a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful relic—a hunt that will ultimately bring them face to face with a dangerous monster. Inspired by horror films of the 1930s and 1940s, the chilling special aims to evoke a sense of dread and the macabre, with plenty of suspense and scares along the way as we explore a new corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
The project is a throwback to the horror films of the ’30s and ’40s. The story centers on a group of unusual suspects gathered together on a creepy night, and one of them is the Werewolf by Night. They find themselves in a position where they are forced to stay alive as the end of the night approaches.
Disney+ will debut the color version of Werewolf by Night on Disney+ on October 20th.
