Wild Featurette For MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING PART ONE Focuses on Epic Rome Car Chase Sequence

Paramount Pictures has released another behind-the-scenes featurette for Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One. The new promo video focuses on an insanely fun car chase sequence that’s set in Rome.

I actually had the opportunity to watch this full scene at CinemaCon, and this might be one of the best car chase scenes ever put in a film, it’s pretty wild, and I loved every second of it! It’s really cool to get some insight into how this action sequence was made, and what went into bringing it to life for the movie.

McQuarrie also explains why shooting this scene was so difficult, and talks about the “possessed car” they used for the scene. All of the driving was done by Cruise himself and through most of it, he’s doing the stunt driving with only one hand! The video features behind-the-scenes footage of all this along with new footage from the actual film.

In Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, “Ethan Hunt and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan's past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.”

This is a really fun featurette that’s worth checking out! Damn, this movie is going to be a blast! I also included a new poster for you to check out.

We’ve already seen footage of a plane stunt that Cruise is doing for the movie. There’s also that insane stunt where he races a motorcycle off a cliff into a base jump, which is said to be “The Biggest Stunt in Cinema History.” One top of that, there’s a fight scene that takes place on top of a train that was real!

The movie also stars Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, and Henry Czerny along with newcomers Shea Whigham (Joker), Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Avengers: Infinity War) and Esai Morales (La Bamba, Titans), Charles Parnell, Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Mark Gatiss, and Cary Elwes (Saw). Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Janet McTeer (Tumbleweeds, Albert Nobbs), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), and Holt McCallany (Mindhunter, Nightmare Alley).

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and Part Two will be released on July 12th, 2023, and June 28th, 2024.
