Gnarly New Trailer for A24's ONSLAUGHT and Adria Arjona Looks Ready to Bring Absolute Chaos

A24 has dropped a gnarly new trailer for Onslaught, and if you were already excited for Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett reuniting, this latest footage cranks that anticipation up several notches.

Packed with brutal action, horror, and a healthy dose of over-the-top sci-fi insanity, this looks like exactly the kind of movie genre fans are going to eat up when it crashes into theaters this September, including IMAX screens.

What's especially cool is that Onslaught isn't just another collaboration between Wingard and Barrett. It's actually set in the same universe as their 2014 cult favorite The Guest, marking the duo's first return to that world 12 years later.

If that wasn't enough to get fans talking, the film has also been described as "Sarah Connor versus Jason Voorhees," which paints a pretty incredible picture of the kind of carnage audiences can expect.

The story centers on a mother living in a trailer park who finds herself standing between her family and a terrifying threat that escaped from a secret military facility. As the trailer teases, "Remember the character of the onslaught against us."

Adria Arjona, coming off her breakout performance in Hit Man, stars as a fearless Army sniper who finds herself facing an army of genetically engineered super soldiers after they break loose in the desert.

With her young daughter caught in the middle of the chaos, she's forced to unleash everything she's got to survive. Judging by this latest trailer, Arjona looks more than ready to carry the film as an action hero who isn't backing down from impossible odds.

The cast is loaded with familiar faces, including Dan Stevens, who also starred in The Guest, alongside Eric Wareheim, Reginald VelJohnson, Michael Biehn, Alex Pereira, Drew Starkey, and Rebecca Hall.

Onslaught is described as: "A gonzo action horror thriller by director Adam Wingard. When a rogue squad of genetically engineered super soldiers break loose in the desert, a badass Army sniper (starring Adria Arjona) must unleash hell to protect her young daughter."

Wingard directs the film after previously helming A Horrible Way to Die, You're Next, The Guest, Blair Witch, Death Note, Godzilla vs. Kong, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

The screenplay comes from Simon Barrett, based on a story he developed with Wingard. Barrett's previous writing credits include The Guest, Blair Witch, Temple, Seance, and Azrael.

This latest trailer makes Onslaught look like a ferocious blend of sci-fi, action, and horror with vicious super soldiers, explosive set pieces, and an action heroine who's ready to fight back with everything she's got.

A24 will unleash Onslaught exclusively in theaters and IMAX on September 4, 2026.
