Will Scarlett Johansson Return as Black Widow in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY?
With Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. already confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, and reports of the original Avengers team reuniting, will we also see Scarlett Johansson return as Black Widow?
Industry insider Jeff Sneider recently mentioned in the latest episode of The Hot Mic podcast that he has heard from his source that Johansson might be coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The podcast host John Rocha brought up the fact that Chris Evans is returning to the MCU, and while discussing that, Rocha asked whether Sneider had heard of any other former MCU star returning for the movie.
He responded: “I was asking someone today, I was like ‘Do you think we’re gonna see Ms Johansson back?’ And they said, ‘I think it’d be weird if she was the only original Avenger who did not return.'”
Sneider further added that he thinks Johansson will “probably be back.”
But, there has been no word from Marvel Studios on Johansson returning to the MCU, so we’re obviously going to treat this as a rumor.
Here’s the thing, Avengers: Doomsday is going to have a pretty big line-up of characters, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Johansson did show up. Hell, when it comes to Marvel, we’ve come to learn that even the impossible is possible.
We also know that Marvel is willing to pull out all the stops to get fans hyped about Marvel again. I mean, they cast Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom and brought back the Russo Bros.!
