Will Spider-Man Appear in DAREDEVIL Season 2? This Photo May Hold The Answer

Update: Turns out Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal are starring in a movie together called Pilgrimage. Oh well — it was fun to speculate anyway. Original article follows.

Here's some speculation for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We know that Sony and Marvel have agreed to shared custody of Spider-Man moving forward, with the web-slinger appearing in the MCU for Marvel Studios as well as starring in his own solo films for Sony Pictures. But wouldn't it be cool if Spidey started showing up in the Marvel Netflix shows, too? New Spider-Man Tom Holland just posted this picture on Instagram:

Had an amazing time hanging with this guy. Much love brother. #pilgrimage #brothers.

That's Holland with Jon Bernthal, who's playing The Punisher in season 2 of Daredevil. That show is filming right now, which naturally leads me to wonder if Spider-Man is going to make an appearance in the new season. That's the kind of crossover that seems like a natural fit for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (which includes all of its live-action TV shows), and it's a move that would certainly help Netflix boost the audience for Daredevil's second season.

Conversely, this might also mean that The Punisher may show up in the first Spider-Man solo film. Bernthal may have hit a new peak of popularity with his appearance on The Walking Dead, but he's been a fixture on the big screen for a few years now, showing up in films like The Wolf of Wall Street, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, and Snitch, and he has a great presence that's perfect for larger-than-life theater screens. Kevin Feige recently said that other MCU characters could appear in Sony's Spider-Man films, and it would totally make sense if these two shared the screen since they're both cruising (or, in one case, swinging) around the streets of New York City.

OR, yet another possibility, what if The Punisher makes his debut in Captain America: Civil War? It does happen in the comics, but that probably wouldn't be the smartest move for the film, considering how crowded it already is, but it's possible.

What do you think is more likely: Spidey showing up in Daredevil, or The Punisher appearing in the next Spider-Man film? Or am I reading way too far into this?
