Yahya Abdul-Mateen ll and Director Steven Caple Jr. Team Up For Series Adaptation of MAN ON FIRE
Yahya Abdul-Mateen ll (Aquaman, Watchmen) is set to star in and executive produce Netflix’s upcoming series adaption of Man on Fire.
Director Steven Caple Jr. (Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts, Creed II) will direct the first two episodes and serve as an executive producer on the project.
The project is based on A.J. Quinnell’s Man on Fire and The Perfect Kill, which are the first two books in a five-book series. This story was previously adapted as a film in 2004 with Denzel Washington.
In the new series, Abdul-Mateen II will take on the role of John Creasy, “a once high-functioning and skilled Special Forces mercenary known for surviving even the most desolate of situations.
“Creasy is now plagued with intense PTSD. Determined to overcome his personal demons, he sets out on a path to redemption. But before he can adjust to this new life, he finds himself back in the fire, fighting harder than ever.”
Kyle Killen (Fear Street) is the writer, executive producer, and showrunner of the project.
