YELLOWSTONE Spinoff Series Has Yet to Sign on Fan-Favorite Actors
Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone series is coming to an end with the second half of Season 5, and from there it will spin off into a new show that was supposed to include several original members from the cast of Yellowstone. However, according to a new report from Puck, none of the core cast members have signed on for the spinoff at this point.
Now, just because deals aren’t in place yet, doesn’t mean that the actors won’t sign on. Actors such as Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, and others are expected to return to the series which is tentatively titled 2024.
I imagine with all of the behind the scenes drama that has been taking place, contract negotiations take a little longer as the actors will be negotiating for more pay. But, there’s also a chance that the spinoff won’t be bringing back as many characters as fans would hope.
The series is also looking to bring Matthew McConaughey and Michelle Pfeiffer on to star. I’m excited for the future of Yellowstone, but I wish that Sheridan and Kevon Costner could’ve worked things out to finish out the original plan for the series. Costner reportedly wants to come back for the next half of Season 5, but that probably won’t happen.
Reilly previously addressed reports about pay disputes saying: "I just care about finishing [the main show] with as much care and as much passion and as much love as I can muster to put into it. That's what I care about. I'm sort of prepping for that now [and] that's my tunnel vision thing that I care about most. And what goes on beyond that? There are discussions, you know. Don't believe everything you read. It's just nonsense. But we're gonna, you know, let's wait and see. I don't have an answer right now. But we'll see."
So, stay tuned for updates on the future of the Yellowstone franchise.
