Zack Sndyer's Two REBEL MOON Movies Get Official Titles
The official titles for Zack Snyder’s upcoming Rebel Moon movies have been revealed ahead of the teaser trailer, which is supposed to drop tomorrow. The titles of the two Star Wars-inspired films are Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire, which will be released on December 22, 2023. The second installment will be titled Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver, which will most likely be released in 2024.
The story follows a group of ragtag rebels who rise up to fight against a giant, evil Empire. It’s set in a “peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius. They dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand against the Tyrant.” You can learn several other details about the series here.
When previously talking about the project, Synder said: “This is me growing up as an Akira Kurosawa fan, a Star Wars fan. It's my love of sci-fi and a giant adventure. My hope is that this also becomes a massive IP and a universe that can be built out."
This is a two-part film and each part will come with an R-rated edition that fans can watch as well. The movie stars Charlie Hunnam, Ed Skrein, Bae Doona, Djimon Hounsou. Ray Fisher, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, Anthony Hopkins, and Alfonso Herrera.
Snyder has big plans for this franchise and has said that he has endless movie and TV ideas for it. So, if these first two films end up being a big success for Netflix, Snyder is going to get to keep adding to this world that he’s hoping to build.
