Zack Snyder Talks About The Threat of Doomsday in BATMAN V SUPERMAN, New Empire Covers Revealed
Before we dive into the meat of this story, let's take a quick look at the two new Empire covers for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (above and below). Nothing too out of the ordinary here — basically just two more images for die-hard fans to obsess over for a minute and then add to their digital collections.
There are at least three villains that are going to pop up (or at least be hinted at) in the new movie, and one of them blasted into view at the end of the most recent trailer: Doomsday.
Director Zack Snyder spoke with Empire about including that character in the film:
"To go up against heroes like Batman and Superman, we wanted to introduce one of the DC Universe's most iconic and powerful villains. He is essentially an unstoppable force. He poses a real threat to the world within the film."
And don't forget about Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), who Snyder says has his own mysterious motivations:
"You learn pretty early on that Lex is interested in metahuman existence, and that there might be some relationship between that investigation and the appearance of Diana Prince."
Interesting. We know Wonder Woman is pretty damn old by the time BVS takes place, and it'll be interesting to see what her relationship is to Luthor in the new movie. We'll find out when the film opens on March 25th.
