Zazie Beetz Would Love To Come Back For DEADPOOL 3, But She Can't Reveal if She Is
We still don’t know when Marvel Studios will release Deadpool 3, but we know it’s not coming in Phase 5. It will either come in Phase 6, or we’ll have to wait for Phase 7. I’m pretty sure we’ll find out at the D23 Expo.
Ryan Reynolds is set to reprise his role and director Shawn Levy (Free Guy, The Adam Project) will helm the sequel. Fans like myself have been wondering if we might see any other familiar faces in the sequel from the previous films. A couple of fan-favorite characters include Josh Brolin's Cable and Zazie Beetz's Domino, and now we know that Beetz would love to reprise her role!
Beetz recently told Variety that she's not aware of any plans for her in future Deadpool movies, but emphasized that she'd "love" to come back. When asked about it, she said: "I don't know. We'll see. I would love to do more Deadpool, but that's me, so I can't reveal."
I hope that Beetz comes back. It’d also be fun to see Brolin’s Cable along with Brianna Hildebrand's Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Stefan Kapičić's Colossus. But, we have no idea what is being planned. All we know right now is that Marvel and Disney have given the creative team the freedom to do whatever they want.
The script is being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and they’ve said: "It's almost like putting on a comfy old sweater. Marvel's really given us the support to maintain the tone and the vision that we have for it. They've been very hands-off and supportive, but they've also let us do what we do. So really, it's just been fun. We're mad scientists back in the laboratory again. Deadpool is our favorite who will always be the character I think we're most associated with, and we're very grateful for being allowed to write him again. So it's a blast. It's like going back to school again after having summer off. It's pretty fun."
They also explained that the film would tell a “fish-out-of-water story,” explaining: "It’s a wonderful opportunity for fish-out-of-water. Deadpool is a lunatic at the center of a movie. Usually, the lunatics are the supporting characters and the protagonist is reasonably sane and our movie's flipped. To drop a lunatic into a very sane world, it’s straight butter. It’s going to be really fun."
Deadpool 3 is currently in development. We’re just waiting to see when it will be released, and who else will star in it!
