Michael Biehn Says "Yes" to New ALIEN Film and It Won't Undo Last Two Films

I was extremely happy to see that Corporal Hicks was included in the concept art for Neill Blomkamp's new Alien film. This is one character that I've always wanted to see come back in the franchise, and I was devastated when he was killed off in Alien 3.

Michael Biehn attended Pensacola Comic Con this last weekend, and while there he was asked about his potential involvement in the new film. The news comes from a Reddit user who apparently asked the actor two quick questions about his future with the franchise. According to the source, when he asked Biehn if he had been contacted about the new Alien film installment he "smiled and said, 'Yes.'" He was then asked if he would be game to do it, and he reportedly said, "Looks like it!" I really hope this is true, because seeing Biehn back in the role as Hicks would be amazing!

The director also recently talked about the film and explained that it would take place after James Cameron's Aliens, and that it would give fans a "proper ending" to Ripley's character. He made it sound like the movie would pretend like the events of Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection never happened, but that might not be the case after all. Blomkamp seemed to clarify his comments in this statement he made to AlloCine:

“I’m not trying to undo ‘Alien 3′ or ‘Alien Resurrection,'… My favorites are the first two movies. I want to make a film that’s connected to ‘Alien’ and ‘Aliens’. That’s my goal.”

So does that mean that the two crappy Alien movies will still exist in the universe? Whatever the case is, it sounds like he's definitely going to ignore them, but not undo the stories they told. He makes it very clear, again, that his film will only be connected to Alien and Aliens. I'm really curious to see what exactly he's planning, and how he's going to pull this off. We talked about this stuff in last week's GeekTyrant Podcast episode. We've got a long way to go before we get any official details on the film project, but I'm excited that it coming.
