A Continuation of Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man Story Is Reportedly "100% Coming" but There's a Catch
Ever since Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire appeared as their versions of Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have been hoping that one day we would see them again, and see their stories continue. There have been rumors about their possible return, but nothing has been made official.
It’s been rumored that Garfield has been approached by Marvel about joining Avengers: Secret Wars. It was also reported that Sony want Garfield and Maguire back for Spider-Man 4.
The latest report comes from Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez, who says that a continuation of Garfield’s Peter Parker story is definitely coming, but there’s a catch… it won’t coming in a standalone film. He explained: "I really don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up with this because the chances of him getting a full blown movie are very minimal. A continuation of his story is 100% coming but it’s not going to warrant another film at this point in time."
When asked if the same applies to Maguire, he responded with a GIF saying, "It's a little bit different.” He did add any additional details. So, that’s all up in the air. All I know is that there’s got to be some kind of talk going on to get these actors suited up as Spider-Man again and back in action.
Garfield previously talked about the potential of continuing his story as Spider-Man in another movie, saying that there is endless potential: "The story never ends, whether we film it or not. There's a story happening in a universe somewhere. There's endless potential with this character and all the different iterations. So, yeah, he's definitely out there doing something."
I’m curious to see what will come of all this, but I do hope that we see Garfield and Maguire again in the MCU one day.
