AHSOKA Season 2 Is Said to Be Using "Multiple Different Film Techniques," Not Just The Volume

According to a recent report, Davie Filoni’s Ahsoka Season 2 is moving production from Los Angeles to the United Kingdom. This means that Lucasfilm currently has no film or TV projects scheduled to shoot in LA.

According to IndieWire, Ahsoka Season 2 will start shooting in April 2025 and the production "will utilize multiple different film techniques." It's noted that, "The first was shot entirely on Volume stages."

It’s good to hear that there will be different film techniques used to bring this story to life. It means that some of the series will be shot on location on actual sets like Andor.

While The Volume is cool to shoot on with its massive wraparound LED screen that creates hyper-realistic visuals displayed in real time, some people fell that it creates lifeless sets. So, location shoots will be a breath of fresh air for some Star Wars fans.

Talking at the Star Wars: Skeleton Crew premiere at Disneyland earlier this month, Filoni shared an update on where things stand with Ahsoka Season 2.

"I'm so well into that as well. I've been writing it, and I'm still the single writer on it, and so I've been enjoying doing that, but it's a challenge, of course, and working some of these arcs through has been a challenge and making sure it's all going to come out in a way that I think is exciting for fans," he teased.

"I know that they're interested in where some of the things I developed in Season 1," Filoni continued. "I'm pretty happy with it. Love working with Rosario [Dawson], so I can’t wait to get back to that."

Ahsoka is set after the fall of the Empire, and “follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.” Season 2 will continue that journey and with Grand Admiral Thrawn, Baylan Skoll, and Shin Hati on the loose, it will be interesting to see where the story goes.

Ahosoka also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

I’m hope we’ll see Hayden Christensen return as well to take on the role of Anakin Skywalker.
