As Expected, Superman and Wonder Woman Cameos Have Been Cut From THE FLASH

Both Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot shot cameo scenes as Superman and Wonder Woman in the upcoming DC film The Flash, but those scenes ended up on the cutting room floor. It’s not really surprising to learn given the fact that Wonder Woman 3 was canceled and Cavill will not be returning to play superman.

The news was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, and they also report that Cavill earned $250,000 for his work on the movie, the same amount of money he was paid to appear in Black Adam earlier this year. It’s explained that this short-lived Superman comeback, “was a pawn in Dwayne’s failed attempt to control a piece of DC.” From what I understand, Dwayne Johnson was actually gunning for the job that James Gunn now holds, and we shouldn’t expect to see Johnson back as Black Adam.

I think it’s funny that Superman and Wonder Woman have been cut from The Flash because it’s not like the movie or the events in it are going to have anything to do with the future of the DC Cinematic Universe anyway, what does cutting them out do? We will never see Ezra Miller back as The Flash after this movie, and we will never see Ben Affleck as Batman again after it either.

The only reason I was excited about this movie was Michael Keaton’s Batman and his future in the DCEU, but since that future is dead as well, I have absolutely no interest in the film. I don’t know, with how drastically things are changing with the DC films and the curtain being closed on the Snyderverse, I’m just surprised that Warner Bros. isn’t canceling The Flash and writing it off for tax purposes.
