Austin Butler's DUNE Character Feyd-Rautha Is "Terrifying" and He Doesn't Use His Elvis Voice
Austin Butler has been getting a lot of praise for his performance as Elvis Presley in Elvis, and since then, he’s been in production on Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two. He takes on the role of the villainous Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in the movie, and one of the things that I’ve been wondering is if he will have his Elvis voice in the movie.
As you know, after playing Elvis, Butler seems to have permanently adopted the Elvis voice. Luckily, according to co-star Dave Bautista, Butler did not use his Elvis voice in the Dune, in fact, he says that Butler is “terrifying” in the role. During a recent interview with USA Today, Bautista said:
"He's just the sweetest guy you'll ever meet. I don't know who this guy was, but it's not Austin Butler. It's not Elvis. His voice is different, his look is different. Everything about his demeanor is terrifying."
That will certainly be interesting to see because it’s hard to imagine Butler being terrifying. We’ll find out what Bautista is describing soon enough. Can you imagine Butler being a terrifying villain?
This sequel “will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”
The movie also stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Stephen McKinley Henderson. New cast members include Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot, Tim Blake Nelson, and Souheila Yacoub as Shishakli.
The movie is set to be released on November 3rd, 2023.
