Tom Cruise's Dangerous Speedflying Stunt Is Focus of Behind the Scenes Video for MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING
I’ve got another behind-the-scenes stunt video for you to watch for director Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One. It puts a focus on Tom Cruise as he speedflies down a mountain for one of the key moments in the movie.
The director explains that with “Tom, there are no limits, so we become a little bit more adventurous.” Yes, yes they do! I’ve already seen the movie and I’m here to tell you that it’s an amazing and incredible film! Wow! As far as the stunts go, they are definitely taking things to a whole new level!
When it comes to speedflying, it’s one of the most dangerous sports in the world, so of course, Tom Cruise perfected it. Speedflying looks absolutely insane!
In Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, “Ethan Hunt and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan's past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about.
We’ve already seen footage of a plane stunt that Cruise is doing for the movie. There’s also that insane stunt where he races a motorcycle off a cliff into a base jump, which is said to be “The Biggest Stunt in Cinema History.” There’s also a fight scene that takes place on top of a train that was real, and a wild car chase sequence that audiences are going to love.
The movie also stars Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, and Henry Czerny along with newcomers Shea Whigham (Joker), Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Avengers: Infinity War) and Esai Morales (La Bamba, Titans), Charles Parnell, Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Mark Gatiss, and Cary Elwes (Saw). Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Janet McTeer (Tumbleweeds, Albert Nobbs), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), and Holt McCallany (Mindhunter, Nightmare Alley).
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and Part Two will be released on July 12th, 2023, and June 28th, 2024.
