Dave Bautista Talks DUNE: PART TWO and Explains How It's "Much More Amped Up Than The First Film"
Dave Bautista is making the press rounds for his upcoming film Knock At The Cabin, and while he’s on that journey, he’s also hyping up another one of his highly-anticipated films… Dune: Part Two.
Director Denis Villeneuve has already teased that the sequel is going to be much bigger than the first one, describing it as the “main meal.” Well, now Bautista is offering some insight into the movie, and in a recent interview with Collider, he teased:
“The first film was just an introduction to what this film is. There’s just so much going on, it’s so much more cutthroat and political and intense, and there are moments of levity where [there are] some funny moments, and they’re kind of absurd humor, but there are those moments. So it’s just so much more amped up than the first film.”
Bautista went on to compare the intensity of the second movie to the first one, saying: “It was that times 100 because it was Rabban amped up, and my part is much bigger on this.” So that’s exciting to hear! I loved the first one, but it sounds like this sequel is going to be a completely different beast.
Dune: Part Two will “explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”
The returning cast also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Stephen McKinley Henderson. New cast members include Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot, and Souheila Yacoub as Shishakli.
