Did Hugh Jackman Reveal The Title of DEADPOOL 3 is WOLVERINE AND DEADPOOL? Ryan Reynolds Responds
Hugh Jackman recently shared a video on social media throwing some shade at Ryan Reynolds over the song "Good Afternoon" from the Christmas movie Spirited, which is being shortlisted by The Academy for the Best Song category. He said if Reynolds gets nominated for Best Song, it would make the next year of his life “insufferable.”
While taking a few joking jabs at his Deadpool 3 costar, he also seemed to drop what might be the title of the movie as he refers to it as Wolverine and Deadpool. Reynolds first responded to the song, saying: "Disagree. I think the deepfakes that sung and danced for Will and I would love to perform at the Oscars." The actor then followed that up by addressing the Wolverine and Deadpool elephant in the room, saying: "Also 'Wolverine and Deadpool', bub?"
The title of the film has yet to be confirmed or denied, but it could be that Jackman is having some fun with Reynolds by putting the Wolverine name before Deadpool. The movie could be titled Deadpool and Wolverine for all we know, or it could have a different title altogether! I don’t know, but it’s definitely got fans talking. The studio could definitely have some fun with the marketing for the film with this.
Deadpool 3 was previously referred to by Reynolds as Deadpool/Wolverine , but one thing we do know is that the official title has yet to be revealed by Marvel and I imagine that’s not going to happen for a while.
The movie is being directed by Shawn Levy, who previously teased the R-rated violence and foulness of the film, saying: "We are writing, rewriting, developing, prepping 'Deadpool' every day now. It is such a blast to laugh every day. It is so delicious to hear and write and come up with these scenes where people are just talking foul. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it's very much a 'Deadpool' movie."
Also, Wolverine and Deadpool are not going to get along in the movie. Wolverine hates Deadpool, and Jackman previously talked about that, saying: “How do I categorize it? Ten being really close, zero being the reality, we’re zero, we’re opposites, hate each other. I’m just talking from my perspective, [Logan’s] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, he can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to punch him in the head a lot.”
Deadpool 3 is scheduled for a November 8, 2024 release.
