Disney Confirms They are Developing "a Few" STAR WARS TV Shows

We've already known that Lucasfilm has been developing been working on a live-action TV series for years. We figured that series, Star Wars: Underworld, would eventually end up being developed at Disney. It was confirmed that Disney was working on one live-action series that may or may not have been Star Wars: Underworld, but now Disney CEO Bob Iger has revealed that they are working on more than one!

Fresh off the news that Game of Thrones series creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, are set to write and produce a new series of Star Wars films. Bob Iger told investors that they are developing a few Star Wars series' for their upcoming streaming service:

"We are developing not just one, but a few Star Wars series specifically for the Disney direct to consumer app. We've mentioned that and we are close to being able to reveal at least one of the interties that is developing that for us. Because the deal isn't completely closed, we can't be specific about that, I think you'll find the level of talent … on the television front will be rather significant as well."

It's going to be really interesting to see what exactly comes from these shows that are being developed. Underworld seems like the most obvious choice, but at this point, anything can happen.

There are said to be over 100 completed scripts of a 400 episode Underworld series that are ready to go. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy previously talked about these scripts saying they are "gold" and that she wants to eventually "develop those things further." There's also been speculation that Star Wars Rebels producer Dave Filoni might be developing the show.

Are there any ideas for a Star Wars series that you have that you'd like to see?
