Evangeline Lilly is Pushing For That All-Female Marvel Movie To Happen
Ant-Man and The Wasp star Evangeline Lilly really wants that all-female Marvel movie to happen. Ever since Tessa Thompson talked about how she and a bunch of other women cast members from the MCU talked to Kevin Feige about an all-female MCU, it's a topic of conversation that keeps getting brought up.
At this point, if this movie doesn't happen, I imagine that Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige are going to get a lot of crap. Kevin Feige has said that it's a possibility and Thompson has teased that "women rule supreme" in Marvel's phase 4.
Now Lilly is really pushing for that film to happen and is prepared to start applying the pressure onto Feige to make it happen. While talking to CB, she said:
"Dude, there's talk of an all-ladies MCU movie amongst the MCU ladies. We would love to do that, and I think we should all put as much pressure as possible on Kevin [Feige] to make that happen."
Because pressuring people into doing things is always the best tactic to get things done. I get it, though, she's excited to jump into her superhero suit again and kick some ass. She goes on to say:
"I have been thinking the exact same thing. Now that it's finally done and dusted, now that I've seen the movie and I can kind of whew, like, 'I did it. It's over.' Now, the immediate question is when do I get to do it again?"
During the Ant-Man and the Wasp press conference, she also talked about the all-female Marvel movie saying:
"I used to say we need to finally see the Wasp with the Hulk because she'd be so tiny and he'd be so giant but then we did Giant-Man and The Wasp so that's out. I don't know but I just personally have such an enormous crush on Okoye and woud love a chance to hang out with Danai as much as possible. So, let's just say that. Besides that, I am going to continue to keep the rumor and gossip about an all-female Avengers film going until it happens."
As I've said before, if the movie does happen, one of the best options would be to focus on Lady Liberators, which is an all-female team in the comics with characters that have included Valkyrie, Wasp, Black Widow and Scarlet Witch. There are more characters that include She-Hulk, Storm, Tigra, Hellcat, Spider-Woman. They could easily throw The Wasp in there as well.
It'll be interesting to see if this film will end up being a part of Marvel upcoming Phase 4.
