Ezra Miller Appears at THE FLASH Premiere and Thanks James Gunn, Zack Snyder, and More
Ezra Miller recently appeared a the big premiere of The Flash, and this is their first public appearance since the actor went through that crazy streak of insanity and violent behavior that landed them in hot water with the law. As you know, Miller was arrested multiple times on various charges of harassment, burglary, disorderly conduct, and more.
It was also at the red carpet premiere that the actor made their first public comments, the first of which was to director Andy Muschietti, saying: “I love you, maestro. I think you are amazing, and I think your work is monumental.”
Miller also went on to thank Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder for casting them as Barry Allen aka The Flash in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. They also thanked Peter Safran and James Gunn for their “grace and discernment and care in the context of my life and in bringing this moment actually to fruition.”
The director of the movie previously confirmed he said he has no plans to recast Miller despite the actor’s recent history of legal troubles and abuse. He said:
“If [a sequel] happens, yes. I don’t think there’s anyone that can play that character as well as they did. The other depictions of the character are great, but this particular vision of the character, they just excelled in doing it. And, as you said, the two Barrys — it feels like a character that was made for them.”
The Flash producer Barbara Muschietti added:
“In principal photography, Ezra was brilliant and the most committed and the most professional [actor]. Ezra gave everything for this role — physically, creatively, emotionally. They were absolutely supreme.”
Muschietti previously had this to say on Miller’s condition: “Ezra is well now. We're all hoping that they get better... They're taking the steps to recovery. They're dealing with mental health issues, but they're well. We talked to them not too long ago, and they're very committed to getting better.”
Barbara added: "And, I have to say, during our shoot, during principal photography, their commitment to the role was something we've never seen. And the discipline to the work, the willingness — physical, mental, and just wanting to go beyond the pale — is just amazing."
With Miller getting this second chance, hopefully, they don’t squander it. It seems like it’s a super rare thing in Hollywood these days to give someone that’s been canceled a second chance. As I’ve said before, people in Hollywood have been canceled for less than the list of things that Miller did. If Miller can get that second chance, the door should be open for a lot of other people.
What do you think about all this?
