Here's Our Best Look Yet at Slimer in GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE
Here’s a new photo from Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire that offers us our best look yet at the fan-favorite green ghost character Slimer. It looks like this character is going to continue causing all kinds of hijinks.
There’s a good chance that Slimer will have a decent-sized role in this movie. With Bill Murray returning, I’m very excited to see Dr. Venkman come face-to-face with Slimer again! That has got to happen in this movie!
The film’s director, Gil Kenan (Monster House), recently shared that Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is partially inspired by the classic 1980s animated series The Real Ghostbusters, and Slimer was a staple of that show, so it would make sense to see him get some solid screentime in this sequel.
The Real Ghostbusters inspired the new movie with its "wild, original and weird-as-f**k villains." He added: "We wanted to bring that show's looseness and fearlessness to this movie. I think it's going to surprise people just how big this film is."
In the story, New York City finds itself freezing over due to an ancient artifact that unleashes an evil force! In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.
The movie stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson. They will be joined by Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjiani, comedian James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind!
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is slated to hit theaters on March 22nd.
