INVINCIBLE Season 2 Gets a Crazy New Trailer!
Prime Video has unleashed a new trailer for Invincible Season 2 and it offers us an exciting and intense look at the next chapter of this insane superhero story. The trailer dropped during Saturday’s Prime Video New York Comic Con panel, and this looks like it’s going to be another great season! Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think!
Invincible revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who's just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). The ending of the first season was insane as it ended with Omni-Man's twisted true intentions being revealed.”
When talking about the upcoming season, creator Robert Kirkman previously said: "I think we kind of hit the ground running with a lot of chaos. Mark and Debbie are dealing with a huge betrayal of Nolan and his absence on the planet is something that's affecting them deeply. Mark is in this place where he was on this trajectory to become this superhero, and everything seemed to be going really well. Now, he's been shaken to his core." But that's only the start of Mark's issues as Kirkman also teased how Mark needs to come into his own even more against new threats.”
He added: "Aside from the betrayal, he's also left with being the new last line of defense on Earth. He's the guy that's the only one strong enough to actually replace Nolan, so he's kind of thrust further into this superhero world that he may not quite be prepared for, and there's no end of conflict that's boiling on the planet that is coming at him nonstop."
Kirkman was also asked about the return of Omni-Man, and in regard to that he said: "The less said about Nolan, I think the better at this point. I'll just say that I wouldn't wager that we'll go the entire season without seeing him. He'll probably crop up when you least expect it, and he may be popping up in ways that you wouldn't necessarily expect. So, I think I've said as much as I can say."
The creator of the show also previously talked about his overall goals for the series and in the process revealed the planned number of seasons that he wants to make for the show to tell his story. He explained: “I’m trying not to pin it down to a number, because it is somewhat of a moving target. I think in the seven-to-eight-season range seems like it would be enough. But there could be some things we move through a little faster, some things we expand. If we’re fortunate enough to go for a good long time, I think that would be enough to cover the entire comic. And there are some things along the way that didn’t get into the comic that I’d like to do. I think it’d be cool to have some episodes here and there that are completely original. So that’s part of the plan moving forward.”
The series also stars Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Gillian Jacobs, Zachary Quinto, Jason Mantzoukas, Melise, Mark Hamill, Mahershala Ali, Seth Rogen, and more.
The first half of its eight-episode season will premiere on November 3, with new episodes airing weekly. Following a mid-season hiatus, the second half of Season 2 will premiere in early 2024 on Prime Video.
