James Gunn Confirms He's Writing PEACEMAKER Season 2 and It Will Address the New DCU Continuity
DC Studios CEO James Gunn has confirmed that he is currently writing Peacmaker Season 2. Gunn shared a behind-the-scenes video for the first season of Peacemaker on Instagram, and a fan asked about the status of Season 2. Gunn replied, “Writing it now.”
Gunn was also asked by a fan if Season 2 will take place in the new DCU/ new continuity, or if will it at least be addressed. "Yes and yes," Gunn replied.
Gunn has got to be one of the busiest guys in Hollywood. Not only is he running a studio, but he’s also writing and directing several DC projects including Creature Commandos, Superman: Legacy, Peacemaker, an Amanda Waller spinoff, and I’m sure he’s got a few other things going as well. On top of that, he manages to find time to read and post stuff on social media.
There are no details on the story for Season 2, but Gunn teased his future cameo plans with the upcoming season, saying, "I think we're going to see more connections in some other stuff as we move forward with Peacemaker and other shows at HBO Max. So those [cameos] will keep coming. I don't know if the Justice League is going to show up in every season of Peacemaker; that might be a one-time thing. We'll see!"
The series stars John Cena as Peacemaker, Steve Agee as Economos, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn, Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, and Freddie Stroma as Vigilante.
