SUPERMAN: LEGACY Director James Gunn Confirms GOTG Actor Will Play Lex Luthor's Henchman Otis
Director James Gunn recently dropped a new photo on social media that gives us a look at the cast of his highly anticipated new DC movie, Superman: Legacy. It features the cast mates that have already been announced, as well as a newcomer. Terence Rosemore is a previously unrevealed member of the cast, who will be taking on the role of Otis from the comics and original movies, but like many actors who’ve worked with Gunn before, he is also an alumni of the director, having had a role in all three of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
The dimwitted henchman was played by the late Ned Beatty in Richard Donner's Superman: The Movie, and he reprised the role for Superman II. A new incarnation of the character was later introduced in pages of the Smallville: Season 11 comic series.
We don’t know exactly how this character will play in the upcoming film, but Gunn is very deliberate about his casting choices, so it will be fun to see what he does with this iteration of Otis. Check out the photo below, and stay tuned for more Superman news.
Superman: Legacy stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent / Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt / Mr. Terrific, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica, aka The Engineer.
Superman: Legacy will launch the movie part of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. It’s scheduled for a theatrical release on July 11, 2025.
