Jensen Ackles Would Love to Play Batman in BRAVE AND THE BOLD, but Jokes It'll Probably Go to Pedro Pascal

As James Gunn is deep in development and casting on Superman: Legacy, speculation has started on who should play Batman in director Andy Muschietti’s Batman: The Brave and The Bold. That movie is so far out, but the fans are already throwing out names to play the Caped Crusader, and Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles is one of them

During a recent appearance at the Jus In Bello Convention in Italy, Ackles addressed the rumors and said that he would love to take on the role of Batman, but also joked that it would probably end up going to Pedro Pascal. He said:

“Uh, I don’t know. Even if I knew, I wouldn’t tell you. I mean, could I do it? Sure. Would I want to do it? Yes. Will I be mad when Pedro Pascal gets it? Yeah. God bless you, Pedro. You just keep killing it, buddy. Let me know when you pass on something.”

The actor went on to talk about the state of the industry right now, but reiterates that he would love the opportunity if it was given to him. He said:

“Look, right now nobody’s talking about anything. There’s a strike going on in the entertainment industry, and until that gets solved, nobody is having conversations about anything. Would I entertain the idea of playing my favorite superhero of all time? Nah, I’m good. It seems like a lot of work, you know. You gotta put in a bat suit and be a superhero. I would love it. Sign me up.”

I can’t help but think that Gunn, Safran, and Muschietti have a wish list of actors for Batman, but it’s something we aren’t going to hear about for a long time. I like Eckles, but I’m not sure he has what it takes to play the character on the big screen.

The project is inspired by Grant Morrison's popular Batman comics run, and it will focus on Bruce Wayne's relationship with his biological son, Damian Wayne. Batman: The Brave and the Bold is said to be one of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s favorite projects.

Who would you like to see take on the role of Batman in Brave and the Bold?
