Johnny Depp Is Open to Working With Disney Again "If It's the Right Project"

After Johnny Depp went through that dramatic defamation trial against Amber Heard and won, he’s moving on with his life and career. As you might imagine, he’s ready and willing to start making big studio movies again and according to a recent report, he’s open to working with Disney again.

People recently reported that Depp “felt betrayed by the company” but an inside source says that "Anything is possible," and "If it's the right project, he'll do it."

The big franchise that Disney partnered up with Depp on was Pirates of the Caribbean, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer has been pushing to get him back for another Pirates movie as Captain Jack Sparrow. A few months ago the producer said:

"We're all working on it. We'll see how it comes out. But we're very excited. I think we'll have a great screenplay. And we're getting close. We'll see. I would love it. I would love him in the movie. That's all I can tell you."

As for what Disney thinks, they are said to be “seemingly inching the door open” to collaborating with Depp again. A Disney executive previously said:

"I absolutely believe post-verdict that Pirates is primed for rebooting with Johnny as Capt. Jack back on board. There is just too much potential box-office treasure for a beloved character deeply embedded in the Disney culture.”

Disney Studio Motion Picture Production President Sean Bailey talked about the new Pirates movie that has been in development saying: "We think we have a really good, exciting story that honors the films that have come before also has something new stay.”

As of right now, Depp isn’t involved and Disney has been "noncommittal at this point." The thing is, do audiences want a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie?! I don’t really need to see another one. Right now Disney has had several films come out that have fallen below box office expectations. I’m not sure if they are willing to make a big gamble on another Pirates film with Depp right now.

Personally, if they do decide to work together again, I’d much rather see them collaborate on a completely different project. What do you think?
