Exciting New Trailer for Marvel's THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Introduces Silver Surfer

Marvel has unleashed a new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and it’s loaded with exciting new footage that is going to get fans pumped about what’s coming!

If features our first look at Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, we finally get a shot of Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards showing off his stretching powers, Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm is confirmed to be pregnant, and there’s a tease of Galactus stomping through the streets!

This is another Marvel movie that I’m actually excited about. This and Thunderbolts* both look like they are going to be awesome, and I just hope they ended up being as great as they look.

Director Matt Shakman previously said of the film: “This is very much about the spirit of the Space Race. It's about JFK and optimism. It’s imagining these four going into space instead of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

“This idea is that they are the most famous people in America, because they’re adventurers, explorers, astronauts — not because they're superheroes. And they come back and they're superheroes on top of it. But primarily they're astronauts, they're family.”

He added: “I really wanted to go with as grounded a version of space as possible. So, no wormholes. Their tech is very much retro-future, but it's also booster rockets. It’s a combination of Marvel and Apollo 11.”

Shakman leaned into practical filmmaking while making the film, saying: “I really wanted it to feel like it was made in 1965, the way Stanley Kubrick would have made it. Within reason.”

In the film: “Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.

“Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”

Additional roles are being played by Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne.

Check out the new trailer and get ready to watch The Fantastic Four: First Steps in theaters on July 25, 2025.
