THE FANTASTIC 4: FIRST STEPS Set Video Reveals The Thing and The Practical Costume is Awesome!
A video has surfaced from the set of Marvel’s The Fantastic 4: First Steps and it offers a first look at Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, and he or his stunt double is wearing a full-on practical costume for the character!
This is so cool and the suit is pretty awesome! In the video, you can see The Thing mask being placed on the actor, who is also wearing a hulking rock suit and Fantastic Four uniform.
The Fantastic 4 is set in the ‘60s in an alternate-reality version of New York City. We saw some test footage of this at Comic-Con last month and I was blown away by it. The movie just started shooting, and they had nothing more to share at D23.
The movie also stars Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning) as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm aka Human Torch.
Paul Walter Houser also recently was cast in the project in an unknown role, Natasha Lyonne, and Julia Garner (Ozark, Inventing Anna) will take on the role of Shalla-Bal, who is an incarnation of Silver Surfer. Ralph Ineson will play Galactus.
The movie is being directed by Matt Shakman from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, who was brought in to rewrite the script originally written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.
The Fantastic 4 is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
