Marvel Included a Secret Morse Code Message in THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Trailer Launch
If you were locked in on every detail of The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer, you’re a winner. But did you catch the pre-launch livestream? Well, it turns out there was a mysterious beeping hidden within Michael Giacchino’s musical score.
Marvel tucked a secret message in there and because this is the internet, a fan has already cracked it. Reddit user whatnowayimpossible did the work and discovered that the beeping is actually Morse code.
It translates to "RADIATION," or at least, most of it. While the Redditor admits that only the back half of the word is clearly recognizable, the meaning lines up perfectly with the Fantastic Four’s story.
The trailer’s entire theme revolves around Marvel’s First Family and their mission into space. If "radiation" is the message, it could be a warning sent back to Earth, possibly a nod to the cosmic rays that famously gave the team their powers.
Marvel isn’t revealing anything, but it seems to be teasing Fantastic Four’s origins. The trailer is packed with potential Easter eggs, including a reference to a "multiverse bridge," which I thought was especially interesting.
In the film: “Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.
“Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”
Additional roles are being played by Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne.
The movie is being directed by Matt Shakman from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, who was brought in to rewrite the script originally written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.
The Fantastic 4: First Steps is scheduled to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
So, was this Morse code just a fun detail, or is it a key clue about the movie’s plot?
