Marvel Looking to Cast Anya Taylor-Joy in FANTASTIC FOUR in Mystery Villain Role
The Fantastic Four casting rumors continue to roll in and this recent report from insider Daniel Richtman, who claims that Marvel Studios is looking to cast Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queens Gambit, The New Mutants) in Fantastic Four. It wasn’t revealed what character she is up for, but it is said that she is in the running for a mystery villain role.
If I were to guess who that character could be, it was previously reported that Galactus would have a female herald in the movie, and that seems like the kind of key role that Taylor-Joy would fit right into. Oscar winner Javier Bardem is reportedly in talks to take on the role of Galactus.
Taylor-Joy is a fantastic actress, and it would be cool to see her take on a great Marvel movie role. The other casting reports have come through saying that Pedro Pascal would take on the role of Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, Venessa Kirby (Napoleon) would play Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, along with Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) as Ben Grimm aka the Thing. Then there’s Mads Mikkelsen who is in the running to play Doctor Doom.
Fantastic Four will be directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision) from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, who was brought in to re-write the script originally written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.
As a project in Phase Six of the MCU, Fantastic Four is scheduled to be released on May 2, 2025.
