Marvel Officially Casts Lewis Pullman as The Sentry in THUNDERBOLTS
A few days ago it was reported that Lewis Pullman was offered the role of The Sentry in Marvel Studio’s Thunderbolts.. That has now been confirmed, and Pullman will replace Steven Yeun, who had to drop out of the project. Pullman is best known for films such as Top Gun: Maverick, Bad Times at the El Royale, The Strangers: Prey at Night, and Lessons in Chemistry. He will also play the lead in the new adaptation of Stephen King's Salem's Lot.
I like the projects that Pullman has appeared in, and this seems like it will be a fun and exciting role for him to take on. The Sentry is a deranged and powerful Marvel character, and it was previously reported that he will be part of Val's Thunderbolts team and will be involved for the first two acts before "something rips him away from them." It was also reported that the character is going to be wearing a comic-accurate costume in the film.
The cast of Thunderbolts includes Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes who will be leading the team, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julie Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and of course, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova. Then there’s Harrison Ford, who is taking on the role of General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross who is going to be President of the United States in Captain America: New World Order.
The film is being directed by Jake Schreier (Paper Towns, Kidding), from a script by Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok, Black Widow) and Kurt Busiek. Thunderbolts is currently set to be released in theaters on July 25, 2025.
