Marvel Reportedly Offered Lewis Pullman the Role of the Sentry in THUNDERBOLTS

A few weeks ago we learned that Steven Yeun dropped out of Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts. The actor was set to play The Sentry, and the studio has been on the hunt for an actor to replace him.

According to a new report from Daniel Richtman and rDCUleaks, Marvel has offered the part to Lewis Pullman. The actor has appeared in films such as Top Gun: Maverick, Bad Times at the El Royale, The Strangers: Prey at Night, and Lessons in Chemistry. He will also play the lead in the new adaptation of Stephen King's Salem's Lot.

There was a previous report claiming that Euphoria actor Austin Abrams was offered the part of Sentry, but either that wasn’t true, or he ended up turning it down. Regardless, Pullman is a fun actor, and The Sentry would be an interesting role for him to take in in the MCU.

The cast of Thunderbolts includes Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes who will be leading the team, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julie Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and of course, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova. Then there’s Harrison Ford, who is taking on the role of General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross who is going to be President of the United States in Captain America: New World Order. Ayo Edebiri also joined the cast in an undisclosed role.

The film is being directed by Jake Schreier (Paper Towns, Kidding), from a script by Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok, Black Widow) and Kurt Busiek. Thunderbolts is currently set to be released in theaters on July 25, 2025.
