Marvel TV Head Teases Wider MCU Future for Daredevil and Punisher After DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN

Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum recently opened up about the future of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher after the events in the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again.

While a guest on the Phase Hero podcast, Winderbaum was asked if he sees a future for The Punisher in the MCU, and he responded:

"He's so great in that role and I can't wait for you to see him on screen in this series and there's absolutely a future for him in the MCU afterward.”

He then went on to talk about the future of the Daredevil series saying that he sees a long run for it: "I think it's a series that can run for multiple seasons."

He explained that the "intricate" New York setting they have created for the show is a lot like Game of Thrones in that "there's just multiple factions vying for power in really complex ways."

Winderbaum goes on to say that he doesn’t think audiences are ready for Daredevil: Born Again, explaining: "I actually don't think the audience is ready for Daredevil: Born Again like, it goes really deep in these characters.

“It is one of the more violent things we've put on screen but it's in service of kind of a greater tragedy that is really compelling."

Well, I like the sound of that! I think fans are ready for that because it’s the kind of storytelling we’ve been waiting for from Marvel Studios!

He previously teased some of the action in the series saying: “I’ll tell you, some of the most brutal action we’ve ever brought to the screen is coming in Daredevil: Born Again, which isn’t a horror show, but really it packs a lot of power and there’s a lot of visceral action, to say the least.”

He also shared: "These characters have matured, the universe is different than it was. Things have changed, society's changed. Matt and Wilson have changed.

“And their characters are gonna collide in ways we've never seen before. It's no longer enough to try to murder each other. There's a whole game of politics at play."

The official synopsis reads: "Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course."

Daredevil: Born Again is currently being developed by directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who worked on both Moon Knight and Loki.

The series also stars Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, and Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Marianna-Fisk.

The cast also includes Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Jeremy Earl, and more.

Daredevil: Born Again is set to arrive on Disney+ on March 4th, 2025.
