New Behind the Scenes Video Focuses on the Train Stunt in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING PART ONE
Here’s an exciting new behind the scenes featurette for Mission: Impossible -Dead Reckoning Part One! This one puts a focus on an epic train stunt in the film that is going to have audiences on the edge of their seat. This epic train scene takes place in the final act of the film, and it’s awesome!
The scene finds Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt in a brutal brawl with Esai Morales’ villain on top of a steam train. During a previous interview with director Christopher McQuarrie, he explains that had they known how challenging it would be to shoot this scene, they wouldn’t have done it. He said:
“We’re making a movie that involves sequence that they just don’t shoot practically anymore, and haven’t in a long, long time. The sequence that we’re shooting right now is no exception. And like most things on Mission: Impossible, if we had known what the challenges were when we started, we would never have done it.”
Now we get a look at how the scene was actually created, and there was a lot of challenging work put into bringing this scene to life. It involved building their own trailer that they would be able to destroy. Seriously, it’s insane what they did! No one does that! It’s so cool to see how they ended up bringing this intense climatic train sequence to life for the movie!
In Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, “Ethan Hunt and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan's past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about.
We’ve already seen footage of a plane stunt that Cruise is doing for the movie. There’s also that insane stunt where he races a motorcycle off a cliff into a base jump, which is said to be “The Biggest Stunt in Cinema History.” There’s also a wild car chase sequence that audiences are going to love, and there’s a crazy speedflying stunt that was shot as well.
The movie also stars Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, and Henry Czerny along with newcomers Shea Whigham (Joker), Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Avengers: Infinity War) and Esai Morales (La Bamba, Titans), Charles Parnell, Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Mark Gatiss, and Cary Elwes (Saw). Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Janet McTeer (Tumbleweeds, Albert Nobbs), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), and Holt McCallany (Mindhunter, Nightmare Alley).
